Dogwalks
Our walks usually start in the morning, the starting time adapted to the season. The length varies, from 1.5 hours to 4+ everything is included, also taking into account the temperatures. We like to relax with a coffee or lunch afterwards, of course with our four-legged friends. During the week we walk mainly in the central Algarve (Concelho de Loulé or Sao Bras de Alportel), on weekends often in more distant places in the Algarve.
Your dog gets walked
I am also happy to take dogs on the walks without their owners if they cannot make it in terms of time but would still like to give their dogs the chance of extended walks with their four-legged friends. This offer applies to our regular fellow walkers as well as to dogs who are on holiday with us or which we look after in their homes.
"Holidaymakers"

Mayra, Chrissy and I live in a town house without a big garden, which is another reason why we go for walks three times a day: a longer dogwalk in the morning and more walks in the afternoon and evening. We gladly welcome an additional dog with us, be it a foster dog from animal welfare or a dog that lives with us while its owners are away.

Dog & Housesitting

Due to limited space, we usually only welcome one dog in our home. However, I am happy to look after your dogs at your home if I can bring Mayra & Chrissy with me. Of course, this is subject to the dogs meeting and liking each other beforehand. We are happy for a change of scenery and your dogs will be looked after in familiar surroundings, have lots of entertainment, exercise as well as two and four legged company. My Chrissy does not like cats, we are working on it, but at the moment on-site care is only possible where there are no cats in the household, to be on the safe side.

Conclusion

My dogs are family, my girls accompany me almost everywhere. They are never alone at home for long and have an interesting, varied life with lots of four-legged company as well as exercise in nature. Whether your dog lives with us or we live with your dogs for a while, we look forward to this temporary addition to our family.

Costs

I am reluctant to bring up this vexed topic. I am not running a business, nor do I make my living from our activities. My professional life was in the past and allows me to volunteer for animal welfare here in Portugal. There are many good commercial dogwalks as well as excellent care services for your dog in your absence. I expect a voluntary donation of a similar amount - you don't save any money, but 100% of your expenditure goes to animal welfare. We support the Canil Sao Francisco de Assis in Loulé as well as organisations that help with neutering / sterilisation of dogs and cats, currently SOS Algarve Animals and Tarecos e Patudos do Algarve.

How much do local, commercial providers actually charge?

Dogwalk: 7-10 euros

Looking after a dog in a boarding house or similar: from 20 euros per day

Looking after your dogs at your home: from 25 euros per day
